Editor's petition to axe bonuses is endorsed

THE Largs and Millport News editor's petition to axe almost half a million pounds of bonuses for Scottish Water Directors has been endorsed by a Holyrood committee.

Drew Cochrane's private petition to the Scottish Parliament was debated and accepted by the cross party Petitions Committee.

Drew said: "In light of the recent scandals of bankers bonuses and MPs expenses the present arrangement is bordering on the obscene whereby £430,000 of taxpayers money is given away to five individuals in the company which is publicly owned."
