Garden scheme safe?

Print | Email

THE council moved to reassure the public that there are NO plans to axe the Garden Tidy Scheme - despite fears from residents in Stevenston this week.

NAC - who are currently implementing the first stages of wide-ranging cutbacks to stay afloat, which have led to jobs being cut and facilities being shut down - say they have no plans to do away with the scheme.

One concerned Campbell Avenue resident told the Herald: "I am 78 years old and I live on my own - my family don't live near me so if North Ayrshire Council do away with the service I will not be able to look after my own garden."
