A DISABLED Ardrossan OAP has been banned from a summer trip because funding will NOT be provided for a wheelchair access bus - for the second year running.

The Herald reported this time last year that the Ardrossan Older People's Welfare Committee was looking into hiring a bus with wheelchair access for their 2010 summer trip after they refused to sell wheelchair-bound Elizabeth Garland a ticket for their trip last year.

Elizabeth, of Seton Street, was left astonished last week that the group once again refused to sell her a ticket for their annual trip, claiming that council funding provided to them did not stretch to hiring an accessible coach.
