SEVEN days after looking out for the count at Valefield Park, comeback kings Kilbirnie completed a stunning comeback by delivering a knockout blow to their bitter rivals to reach the quarter-finals.

Three-nil down in the first match and seemingly out of the national competition gutsy Ladeside had clawed back to force a rematch and the win was deserved as they were the hungrier team against a flat-looking home side who are a shadow of the team who won last season's Premier Division in such style.

Tommy Bryce's men may be fighting a relegation battle but if the commitment and desire they showed is reproduced in the weeks ahead they surely stand a great chance of survival and in this kind of mood could go further in the national competition.
