Councillor Munn steps down after 27 years

FIRST elected in 1984 when Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister and North Ayrshire Council was Cunninghame District Council, David Munn - Councillor for Saltcoats and Stevenston - is stepping down from local politics.

The 63-year-old father-of-three was born in the late 1940s in Ayr and, at the age of seventeen, moved to Stevenston when his father secured a haedteacher's job there. "I'm a Three Towns man now but I still consider myself 'an honest man'", said David. "Ne'er a toon surpasses for honest men and bonnie lasses!"
