Mystery surrounds Beith incident

POLICE are treating an incident at a property in Beith on Saturday afternoon as a serious assault.

A spokesman said the 27-year-old householder received several deep lacerations to the right hand side of his head, close to his ear, during the incident, which took place beytween 4.45 and 5pm on June 4 in New Street.

The identity of the assailant - who may have himself been injured by his victim during the incident - is not known.
