RESIDENTS in Beith have blasted North Ayrshire Council this week over their plans to build 300 new houses at Mossneuk.

Around 60 concerned residents attended Orr Park Neighbourhood Watch's meeting last Tuesday to discuss the plans that form part of NAC's proposed Local Development Plan (LDP) which was submitted to the Scottish Government for approval on Friday. The Beith residents say the LDP includes proposals to build "300 housing units in a location between Auldlea Road running down past houses adjacent to Ash Drive, swinging around and adjacent to an adjoining wall to the local cemetery and continuing down the hill toward Woodside Lodge on the West of Beith."
