TWO Ardrossan brothers tackled one of the world's most famed and difficult treks on Mount Everest to raise thousands in cash for a North Ayrshire care home.

David McFarlane, 62, and brother Alex, 56, donated £4,000 to the South Beach House, Ardrossan, as a thank you for caring for their mother Rena, who recently passed away.

"We wanted to show our appreciation to south Beach House for the way they took care of our mother when she was here for her last year. We really can't thank them enough," David said.
