COLLEGE MERGER WILL GO AHEAD

JAMES Watt College's Kilwinning campus WILL link up with two Ayrshire sites as part of a new merger, it has been confirmed.

Scottish Education Secretary Mike Russell says that the Kilwinning college will become part of a new Ayrshire set-up with Kilmarnock and Ayr Colleges while the remaining Greenock Finnart and Waterfront campus joins with Reid Kerr and Clydebank.

Mr Russell announced his decision in parliament recently.
