CELTIC supporters from Ardrossan and other parts of the area took part in a ceremony honouring one of the key figures in the football club's history on Saturday, with a memorial stone to its first chairman, John McLaughlin.

It took place at St Peter's Cemetry in London Road, Glasgow, with family members travelling from as far away as Canada to attend.

Representatives of Celtic FC, including the present chairman Ian Bankier were also there, as well as former player Jim Craig from the Celtic Graves Society.
