DEVELOPERS planning to build a racetrack, said to be one of Ayrshire's 'biggest tourist attractions', are having a bumpy ride after Environmental Health officers lodged a response to the proposed Stevenston project regarding noise levels.

Irvine Bay Events Ltd lodged a planning application with North Ayrshire Council in November last year to build a motocross raec track with a quarter mile drag strip, driver test area, ferris wheel and grandstands on a 28 hectare site west of Lundholm Road, Stevenston.

In early February the proposed plans to build the Nobel Race Track were delayed when Environmental Health advised that the application could not progress at this time due to insufficient information regarding 'operational noise levels'.
