NAC LEADER'S LAWSUIT THREAT

A COUNCIL chief was threatened with a lawsuit from a fellow councillor who claimed defamatory statements were made against him at a local authority meeting.

Independent Councillor Robert Barr, who represents Dalry and West Kilbride, threatened Leader of the Council David O'Neill with legal action when elected members gathered on Wednesday, February 22 at a meeting of the council.

Mr Barr said he took issue that there was no minutes from a pre budget meeting held on February 1, where he claimed the Scottish Labour Councillor Mr O'Neill made a defamatory statement against his character.
