St Brigid's Church in Kilbirnie celebrate anniversary using photo archive.

ST BRIGID'S Church in Kilbirnie will commemorate their 150th anniversary on May 11 this year and a former resident has chosen to mark the occasion with a commemorative photo archive.

Gerard Boyle has spearheaded the sesquicentennial celebration project after he inherited an archive of photos from his great-uncle Bernard Nugent, a keen photographer and former teacher at St Bridget's Primary - which sported a different spelling.

Gerard said: "Bernard died about 15 years ago, but I still have a collection of negatives and photos he gave me about 20-odd years ago and I have been digitising them for the past year to display as a permanent online archive."
