A COMMUNITY safety initiative has returned to Kilbirnie after a crackdown halved the number of violent crimes recorded in the area.

The Multi Agency Problem Solving Group, led by North Ayrshire Council and Strathclyde Police, returned to Milton Estate following an initial visit in May last year.

At the week-long event Radio City hosted a forum which was attended by North Ayrshire Council's Anti Social Behaviour Investigation Team and Strathclyde Police.
