CONFUSION OVER PLANS FOR NACAS
LABOUR Party members have backtracked over a motion which called for North Ayrshire Citizens' Advice Service (NACAS) to retracted their decision to close more than half of their offices in the region.
The dispute between NAC and NACAS continues as they reveal conflicting statements. Labour party members Councilllor Alex Gallagher and Leader of the Council David O'Neill claimed that there are ongoing negotiations with the organisation while NACAS declaired this has not been the case.
In February NACAS said they received notification from NAC that their 2012/13 funding would be £175,000 - down from £192,000 - with a further £5,000 fall for the next two years, leaving them with less money but an ever-increasing number of clients.
