MISSING MILLION
NAC lose track of money for road for decade
MORE than a million pounds allocated to North Ayrshire Council for the realignment of The Den on the A737 in Dalry has been sitting in a bank account held by the council for almost a decade.
This month Cunninghame North MSP Kenneth Gibson asked Chief Executive of NAC Elma Murray why the local authority had not spend the £1.193 million of 'missing funds' which were allocated by the Scottish Executive in April 2003 to improve access to the Ardeer site at Stevenston.
In an email correspondence with the SNP MSP Ms Murray stated she was 'unaware of this' money until recently and pledged to look into the matter. She said 'staff changes' were to blame for the delay and she claimed the money was not forgotten.
