AN Ardrossan fire chief has praised Strathclyde Fire and Rescue's community partnership and preventative measurers after the service received a positive review from Audit Scotland recently.
Hugh Kerr, Area Commander for North and South Ayrshire at Strathclyde Fire and Rescue, presented the findings of the report to North and South Ayrshire Council last week and speaking to the Herald he said he was 'proud' of the results of the report.
He said: "If it was a school and we got that report it would have been marked nine out of 10. We stand out in the way its run, with the management and our officers in the community and that was highlighted in the Best Value report."
