RESIDENTS who are registered to vote in the forthcoming local government elections have now been issued with polling cards.

North Ayrshire Council said it is essential for voters to check their official poll card to establish which local polling place they should use to cast their vote on Thursday, 3 May. Registered voters can cast their vote between 7am and 10pm on the day.

A spokesman for NAC said: "There have been some changes to polling places follow a statutory review of polling districts and places - with a small percentage of electors required to vote at alternative venues.

"However, the vast majority of voters will continue to vote at their usual polling place."

The locations of polling places have been posted in community halls and centres, libraries and local offices.

You can also find out your designated polling place by visiting www.geo.north-ayrshire.gov.uk/Polling_LCInternet/LocationDetails.aspx and entering your postcode.
