NAC QUESTIONED OVER A737 FUNDS
LEADER of the Council David O'Neill claimed despite the allocation of millions of pounds of funding to North Ayrshire Council almost a decade ago a lack of cash delayed realignment work at the Den in Dalry on the A737, which is under the responsibility of Transport Scotland.
AN SNP councillor questioned NAC over their failure to spend the funds allocated at a meeting of the full council on Wednesday, April 18.
Councillor Anthea Dickson stated that in 2001 and 2002 NAC lobbied the Scottish Government for funds to upgrade the three sections of road, namely the realignment of the A737 at the Den, improve access to the Ardeer site at Stevenston, and the Head Street junction at Beith.
