CONFIDENTIAL FILES WILL BE RELEASED
Documents about the sinking of HMS Dasher are to be made public
EX-SERVICES personal locally said they were delighted at news this week that the Government are to release hitherto-confidential files about the sinking of HMS Dasher off Ardrossan in 1943.
The announcement comes a short time after MP Katy Clark requested in Parliament that the Secretary of State for Defence meet with survivers and family members of those who lost their lives when HMs Dasher sank off the coast of Ardrossan on March that year with horrendous loss of life.
Ms Clark raised the issue in Defence Questions 69 years after the Dasher sunk. A total of 379 of the 528 Royal Navy Avenger class aircraft carrier crew died in the incident.

Report commentAt last we will find out why Dasher was beached & the truth about when she was sunk offshore. It's been an awful long wait for relatives. Don't believe the literature in print.
