Citizens Advice Service open phoneline to combat centre closure
A NEW telephone advice service has been launched by North Ayrshire Citizens Advice Service (NACAS) after they recently announced the closure of their Arran, Kilbirnie and Largs offices because of council cutbacks.
In February NACAS said they received notification from NAC that their 2012/13 funding would be £175,000 - down from £192,000 - with a further £5,000 fall for the next two years, leaving them with less money but an ever-increasing number of clients.
However, NACAS say although the phone line will increase access to the service it will not affect the core face-to-face service.
