NORTH AYRSHIRE TEENS ARE REACHING FOR THE SKY

HIGH achievers and community minded youngsters from North Ayrshire schools were recognised in the first Rising Stars Awards.

The awards, by North Ayrshire Council, include categories such as outstanding academic achievement, sporting achievement and contribution to the community.

Carol Kirk, North Ayrshire Council, Corporate Director of Education and Skills, said: "Young people make a huge contribution to life in North Ayrshire.

"Everyone who was nominated had significant personal achievements to celebrate and it was with some difficulty that the judges settled on the outstanding achievers who are our Rising Stars."
