COUNCIL bosses are poised to revamp security measures after thousands of pounds were 'misappropriated' from a local office.

Official audit documents reveal £5,000 is still outstanding following the alleged incident involving a member of staff.

A disgruntled rate payer who contacted the Herald calling for action said: "If owners or tenants fraudulently claimed benefits, they would be prosecuted."
