FINDING Your Feet, the charity set up by Lochwinnoch quadruple amputee Corinne Hutton, is holding a festive fayre like no other next weekend.

Champers, Shop & Shimmy is the latest fundraising event to be hosted by the charity set up by friends and family of mum Corinne, who had her hands and feet amputated following septicaemia in June 2013.

With craft stalls, live music, champagne, fireworks and a ladies cream tea, guests can kick off their Christmas shopping in style at the event held in Renfrew on Saturday, November 8.

Guests will be able to browse an array of craft stalls including handmade jewellery, clothing, slate and wood kitchenware, confectionery and wire art sculptures while enjoying cream tea and bubbly.

A mobile massage parlour and nail bar will provide some pampering while a band, DJ and pianist will provide entertainment throughout the afternoon.

People can opt to stay for the fireworks display at 7pm.

Finding Your Feet provides support to those facing life-changing trauma due to illness or injury, by lending a hand to those who need help finding their feet again in life.

Much of the money raised at the event will be used to fund a Christmas party for young people currently undergoing treatment at the Southern General’s WestMARC unit, the national prosthetic centre providing specialist treatment to those who have lost limbs.

Corinne was herself a patient at WestMARC following her illness.

And she is set to be the first person in the UK to undergo a double hand transplant later this year.

Champers, Shop & Shimmy kicks off at 2pm at the David Lloyd Leisure Centre in Renfrew.

Tickets for cost £15 and are available from Nicola Booth at Finding Your Feet (Nicola@findingyourfeet.net) or via the charity’s facebook page at facebook.com/FindingYourFeetCharity.
