SEAMILL Hydro played host to the Cash for Kids Christmas Party recently.

But there was more to the evening than a chance to celebrate the festive season - through a raffle and auctions on the night, those attending the event helped raise over £4,700.

All the money will go to groups helping children living in poverty, and to help needy families enjoy a nicer festive season.

West FM breakfast DJ Colin McArdle was compere for the night, managing to keep the crowd in stitches while (not so) subtly persuading auction bidders to hand over more donations for this worthy charity.

Musical talent on the night came courtesy of X Factor finalist Emily Middlemas, who kept guests entertained with tales of her time on the hit show, before performing her own songs.

No doubt a talent for the future.

The evening also included a string quartet, and finished with dancing to the music of Rogues Gallery.

Among those supporting the event were Craig Bilham, the Golf Inn, Automotive Solutions, Tallullah Belle Fashion, Mansefield Trinity Church and Letts Agree.
