NORTH Ayrshire pharmacies open over the New Year holiday period have been announced by Ayrshire health bosses.

Over New Year, GP practices will be closed for four days from New Year’s Day until Monday, January 5.

During this time, people can still get advice from their community pharmacist.

Wednesday 31 December 2014: All pharmacies will open as normal however the following will close early: J. Reekie, 1 Cardow Cresecent, Irvine. Closes 5.30pm.

Boots, East Road, Irvine. Closes 5.30pm.

Townhead Pharmacy, Station Plaza, Kilwinning. Closes 5.30pm.

JB Spence, Skelmorlie Castle Road, Skelmorlie. Closes 12.30pm.

Boots, 42 Main Street, Largs. Closes 5.30pm.

Superdrug, Aitken Street, Largs. Closes 5.30pm Morrisons, 4 Irvine Road, Largs. Closes 5.30pm.

Halliday Pharmacy, 5 Aitken Street, Largs. Closes 5.30pm.

Thursday 1 January 2015: All pharmacies will be closed, except: Townhead Pharmacy, Station Plaza, Kilwinning. Open 12 noon– 2pm.

J. Reekie, 1 Cardow Cresecent, Irvine. Open 2pm – 4pm.

Friday 2 January 2015 All pharmacies will be closed, except: Boots, 1 Fullarton Square, Irvine. Open from 10am – 5.30pm.

Superdrug, 6b Aitken Street, Largs. Open 10am – 5pm.

Morrisons Pharmacy, 4 Irvine Road, Largs. Open 9am – 6pm.

Boots, 77 Dockhead Street, Saltcoats. Open 10am – 4pm.

Normal weekend opening hours will apply for all pharmacies on Saturday 3 January and Sunday 4 January.
