THREE local women who set out on their very first triathlon at the weekend were all successful and have raised over £3,000 for charity in the process.

Helen Glasby, Claire Hume and Lauren Ritchie completed the event on Saturday with Helen coming in at two hours and 45 minutes with Claire and Lauren finishing in just over three hours.

With heights of over 1,200 feet scaled in both the run and bike part of the event, it was tough going but nothing could hold the trio back.

Helen has so far raised £320 for Winton Primary School with Lauren raising £440 for Alzheimer’s Scotland and Claire raising a massive £2,600 for Myeloma UK.

The donation pages for all three are still open and they would like to pass on a huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far.
