ARDROSSAN’S Whitlees Community Centre is leading the way with community involvement with various groups, events and programmes running all year round to keep the people from Ardrossan and beyond happy and content.

Run on a completely voluntary basis, the Community Centre is a hub of non-stop activity with youth groups, bingo nights, cabarets and their annual Gala keeping locals coming back for more.

Based in Carrick Place, right next to Stanley Primary School, the large and easily accessible centre has something for absolutely everyone and their success over the last couple of years has seen their events become more popular than ever before.

The Youth Club, pictured, meets every Thursday with around 40 kids every single week coming along to take part in a whole host of activities that they chose and suggest.

Their club is so busy that they have to ensure that everyone is accounted for.

Other groups include the Knitting Group, monthly prize bingo and various events that take place during holidays.

As well as these, the centre offers their well supported Gala, days out to local farm parks, theme parks and a fun day around Easter.

Last year the centre held their very first bonfire and fireworks night which was very well received and is planned again for 2016.

They offer competitive prices for hall hire and the use of any rooms for local clubs with the money put back into the centre in order to keep the place running.

They offer functions, with the possibility of a bar, for all needs from parties, weddings, christenings to funerals or just a room for local groups to meet at very competitive rates.
