THE annual Winton Rovers Fete and Fun Day takes place on Saturday, May 28.

And it is set to be as spectacular as ever, with something for all the family to do.

This year’s Gala Party will be crowned at 2pm. The king will be Jack Wilson, Queen will be Sophie McLeod, princes are Keir Lundie and Campbell Wood and the princesses are Jessica Toner and Abbey Hunter.

There will be rides for the youngsters, cheerleaders, dancing, the Cannon Hill fun run, a dog show, a pipe band, the tug-o-war, a school football tournament as well as loads of stalls for everyone to enjoy.

Starting at 12pm, the fun will run until 4pm at Winton Park with a bar and snacks available throughout the day.

The organising committee’s Pat Breen told the Herald: “It’s going to be a really busy day, with lots of fun activities for everyone.

“We are really looking forward to it.”

The timetable for the day is as follows:

12pm: Official opening by Frank Sweeney, chief executive of Cunninghame Housing Association, accompanied by the Largs BB Pipe Band, helped by MC for the day, Angus Middleton.

12.30pm: Primary school football tournament kicks off.

1pm: The dog show begins.

1pm: Cheerleaders from the Charlene Cargill School of Dance perform.

1.30-2pm: Compulsion, by the Street Beat Dance Crew.

2pm: Crowning of this year’s gala king and queen.

2.15pm: Live music from Sunny Day and the Restless Knights.

2.30pm and 3pm: Castle Hill fun run and race, organised by the Ardrossan Castle Heritage Society and Maximum Potential Fitness Centre.

3.15pm: Tug of war between Charlie’s Bar, Garfields, the Castlehill Vaults and Ardrossan Sea Cadets.

4pm: Close.
