A 29-year-old woman has admitted to phoning police pretending to be her ex-boyfriend's heavily pregnant partner and claiming he assaulted her.
Veronica Angela McMillan, of Keirhardie Place in Saltcoats, behaved in a threatening or abusive manner when she called police on February 15 last year.
McMillan claimed to be her ex-partner's new girlfriend, who was heavily pregnant at the time, and accused him of assaulting her.
Her allegations caused police to investigate to the distress of her ex-boyfriend's partner.
McMillan appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week where she pled guilty to the charge.
Sentence was deferred and she will appear appear again at the same court next month.
