THE Ayrshire Hospice officially opened its 11th shop last week - in Saltcoats Town Centre.

The store, which is the fourth in North Ayrshire, was officially opened by Chair of Ayrshire Hospice Board of Directors, Sheena Cochrane, who cut the ribbon to open the shop and said a few words about the importance of the hospice retail network.

She said: “Our shops play a huge role in generating much needed funds for the hospice. Last year they represented our fourth highest fundraising stream contributing significantly to our ability to provide excellent care to our patients and their families. We are extremely grateful for the continuous support our shops receive from our local communities, as we rely on it hugely.”

The Saltcoats shop interior has been furnished with upcycled furniture donated by supporters saving the hospice team money, as well as giving the shop a very special, boutique feel.

Susan Tierney, the Saltcoats shop manager is excited to meet all the new customers and is looking forward to showcasing the vast array of items the Saltcoats shop has to offer.

Anyone interested in donating goods to the Saltcoats shop should get in touch with the shop manager, Susan Tierney by emailing saltcoats.shop@ayrshirehospice.org
