A NEW social enterprise was officially launched at the weekend in Ardrossan with arts and crafts on offer to all.

Arty Party Crafts is a craft centre in the town’s Rowanside Terrace that will host regular craft workshops and activities for children and adults.

They are also available for birthday parties and other celebrations.

It is a social enterprise and craft centre that aims to make arts and crafts activities for all ages more accessible to the community

It is the brainchild of Ardrossan mum, Pamela Macpherson, the centre’s activities are open to people of all ages and abilities. It is available to book for birthday parties and school workshops.

Pamela said: “The official opening was a great success and extremely well supported by the local community.

“We will be offering messy play for toddlers, after school craft club, ceramic painting, and lots more! There is a separate party room which can be booked for birthday parties and other functions. We can also cater for large groups like brownies, guides.

“I hope to make arts and crafts more accessible to everyone in my local community. As a mum of three it is always a struggle to find creative activities for my children to do.I also found it difficult to find somewhere to book for birthday parties. I have been making arts and crafts for more than 15 years. I have attended many craft events to showcase my products and have always received positive responses from fellow craft enthusiasts. With Arty Party Crafts, I would like to share my passion for all things crafty with others in the community.

“I would like to thank North Ayrshire Council Business Gateway, Social Enterprise Scotland, Patricia Gibson MP and also my friends and family who have supported me over the last few months as it has been blood, sweat and tears getting the shop ready to open as it had been empty for years. Also the local community have been very supportive.”
