A Former Ardrossan Academy student now living in Australia will make her Hollywood debut later this month after her web series was selected to screen at several international film festivals.

Catriona Coe, originally from West Kilbride, is a lead actress in a drama series that uses hints of dark humour and mystery to tell the story of ‘Boondock Alley: A Doctor’s Surgery for the Undead.’

Along with fellow lead actors, Leon Grey and Anita Barnes, the Western Australian-based trio produced the series with the help of director, James Pentecost, and writer, Richard Hyde.

Catriona said the series had been officially selected for three international festivals so far, and will be screened at the 2017 Hollyweb Festival in Central Hollywood.

She added: “We are absolutely thrilled to be screening at the Hollyweb Festival.

“To share the screen and the dream with fellow writers, actors and creators of digital content from all around the world feels incredible!”

The sixth Annual Hollyweb Festival will run from Thursday, March 30 until Sunday, April 2 at Raleigh Studios in Central Hollywood.

Boondock Alley will also screen through the 2017 International Online Web Festival and was a selected semi-finalist for the 2017 Hollywood International Moving Pictures Film Festival in February.

Catriona said: “I felt so inspired after performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2015 that I came back to Perth and got focused on our series.

“We received great feedback from the Made in Melbourne Film Festival where we premiered and now we can’t wait to see how it goes overseas.

“Screening in front of Hollywood Producers and Screenwriters gives us the opportunity to evolve our concept and take Boondock Alley on an ever bigger journey!”

The first two episodes of Boondock Alley will be released in the coming months.
