ARDROSSAN Library is open again after extensive refurbishment throughout the Princes Street base.

The library has a number of upgrades and locals are already loving the new look.

During the closure, the library received the following refurbishments:

* A newly created area for our young adult readers with fabulous chairs to curl up in.

* The walls have been brightened up with a coat of paint & some Vinyl covering.

* Lovely new carpet throughout.

* Bright, spacious children’s area with cosy reading nook for parents and wee ones.

* New furniture & seating to read, study & relax on.

* Better to view shelving that is on castors for easy manoeuvrability to allow for better use of space for different events and activities.

* New large table for our groups to use .....especially ‘Sew much fun’ craft group who will benefit from having lots of elbow room to work on their craft projects.

* Tassimo machine offering coffee, hot chocolate & tea for £1

* An area created within the pc suite for readers to bring their own devices and use our Wi-Fi.

* Space has been created & furniture provided to accommodate another couple of PCs in the future.

The only thing that didn’t receive a make-over is the staff....still the same friendly faces that our readers are used to!

Also, although not included, the community room is now shaping up to be a great space for groups, individuals and organisations to use for meetings, training, activities, teaching & learning. Contact the branch for more details.

Visitors have already said ‘It looks so much bigger & brighter.’, ‘A very warm & welcoming ambiance was always guaranteed but it is now even more pleasant to visit.’ and ‘I LOOOVVVEE the Young adult bit.....It was great to sit and read without being annoyed by my brother...can’t wait to come back!

After many weeks of disruption, Lara & Suzanne are pleased with the final result and are delighted to be welcoming their readers back into such a lovely, bright new environment. They can’t wait to see you all over the next few weeks and to hear what you think.
