A SEVEN-year-old boy has raised over £1,000 by shaving his hair in honour of his beloved papa who is suffering from terminal cancer.
Alfie MacLachlan from Saltcoats braved the shave at Dee Dees Cutz in Ardrossan to raise money for Cancer Research.
The Mayfield Primary pupil came up with idea for the fundraiser himself after hearing that his papa Tommy Cameron was seriously ill.
Alfie’s mum Claire Cameron said: “We found out my dad had terminal cancer several months ago .
“After explaining to Alfie and his twin sister that Papa was ill and receiving chemotherapy, Alfie suggested out the blue that he would get his hair shaved off if people would sponsor him and give the money to Cancer Research.
“I was amazed at how kind and thoughtful he was being and dead set on it.”
