POLICE have seized drugs with an estimated street value of £100,000 from a property in Saltcoats.

On Saturday, April 8, following an intelligence-led operation in the Ayrshire area, police seized a quantity of controlled drugs worth an estimated street value of £100,000.

Around 1.15pm, officers had cause to search two men in Hill Street, Kilmarnock, and discovered a quantity of drugs and a four-figure sum of cash.

Around 9pm, officers executed a search warrant at an address in Cunninghame Crescent, Saltcoats, where a significant quantity of cocaine, cannabis and ecstasy was recovered along with a firearm.

Two men, aged 26 and 61, have been arrested and detained in police custody in connection with the incident.

Detective Inspector Steven Wallace from Kilmarnock CID said: “Controlled drugs worth a six-figure sum are now off the streets of Ayrshire and will no longer have the ability to cause harm to people in our communities.

“Our officers work every day to disrupt individuals who engage in drugs activity and will act on any information from members of the public, so if you have any concerns of this nature please do come and speak to us.
