On Easter Sunday, members of Ardrossan Castle Heritage Society joined the many families who had gathered there to roll Easter eggs.
The Castle gate was unlocked to let people have a closer look at the historic building.
Despite the cold and rain, nearly 300 people visited the Castle while hundreds of others had fun on the Hill.
There was an Easter egg hunt for children and, for the first time, a replica sarcophagus lid was on display in the ruins of the Church at the exact spot where the famous stone coffin was found in 1911.
The Heritage Society commissioned the full-size replica coffin lid recently and visitors were more than impressed with the work.
