THE Conservative candidate for the Stevenston ward says he is keen to address better seating and in the Ardeer area if elected to North Ayrshire Council.
Tom McCammont said that the issue had been raised in response to his ‘60 second surveys’ that he has been delivering to people in the newly formed ward.
He told the Herald: “In response to some of my 60 second surveys. I’m responding to the requests that the park lacks adequate seating, waste bins and picnic tables.
“There are plenty of signs round the lake but alarmingly there are no Lifebelts. I would like to see the Council encourage the use of these amenities by providing the above, looking at the parking facilities.
“There is a hard standing area which used to be the Tennis Courts, this could be used as a children’s play area. CCTV could be installed to prevent vandalism and petty crime. These are only a few ideas. I’m sure we could encourage your readers to come up with a few suggestions to enhance this dilapidated facility.”
