THE Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team were feeling a bit 'ropey' during their weekly training last night.
After a brief knot tying refresher, the team spent the evening going through a variety of technical rope rescue setups including a standard descent and vertical rescue techniques.
The team currently have a number of relatively new members who are training to work their way through the various rope rescue levels starting with awareness before progressing onto operator and technician level.
The training session also provided the more experienced team members a chance to refresh their skills and share their knowledge amongst the newer team members ahead a full day of rope rescue training scheduled later this month.
Training is an essential element of being part of the Coastguard Rescue Service and makes up part of the large commitment of being a Coastguard Rescue Officer.
