THE Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team was called out last Thursday to help local police with a search in Prestwick.
The team responded immediately along with colleagues from Ayr Coastguard Rescue Team following concerns being raised for a man seen near the rocks at Prestwick Beach.
A multi-agency search was conducted by both the Ardrossan and Ayr teams in challenging weather conditions, however, after an extensive area search nothing of note was found and all resources were thereafter stood down.
The Ardrossan team then returned to station to complete the necessary paperwork with search kit and personal protective equipment being hung up to dry after receiving a substantial soaking due to the weather conditions on scene.
The team has then booked off duty and returned home ready to respond to the next callout.
