THE kind and generous people of Ardrossan did their bit to help the families devastated by the fire in London earlier this month.
When the members of the committee from Ardrossan Whitlees Community Centre heard what had happened, they wasted no time in organising a collection of clothes, toiletries, toys and other bits and pieces to donate to those in need. Between 40 and 60 bags were collected at the weekend by a removal company from Beith who were helping with the transporting of goods donated from throughout the local area.
This shows the real strength in community spirit that is held by those involved with the Whitlees Centre as they build up for their annual gala this Sunday from 11am.
The parade will leave from the car park at Stanley Primary School at 11.15am with all the usual attractions for all of the family on offer. For more details, visit their Facebook page.
