SALTCOATS Library were delighted to host a beautiful and quite inspirational Fiddle and Harp Showcase Concert lead by Emma Durkan. Emma is an experienced, friendly and professional musician who has delighted audiences in a variety of different environments for over 13 years.
Emma’s repertoire is varied and has played many different styles including pop, rock, folk and classical.
Emma has a sensitive yet passionate approach to music and has been highly commended by the audiences she has performed in front of while playing fiddle or clarsach (celtic harp).
On the evening Emma’s students played from a relaxing instrumental playlist; Lochaber Badger, Sing it in the Valleys, Kerry Polka. Emma then brought the concert to a close with a jig called co a ni mi ri Mairi on the clarsach, then a set of reels on the fiddle.
We were all entertained with the depth, vitality and passion Emma provided.
