A 38-year-old man has been jailed for six months after he breached a non-harassment order which prevented him from communicating with an elderly lady.
John Coyle, of Hamilton Street in Saltcoats, pleaded guilty at Kilmarnock Sheriff last week to two charges of breaching the order, which was made on August 3 last year.
The order required that Coyle refrain from communicating or trying to communicate directly or indirectly with a 73-year-old woman and from entering her street in Ardrossan.
However, Coyle entered the woman’s address and knocked on the door and tried to communicate directly with her on June 25 and then again on June 27.
He was sentenced to six months in prison, reduced from nine months.
