A 50-year-old man has dodged jail after admitting to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and threatening to throw stones at Saltcoats Police Station.
John Carvel, of Broadway, Ardrossan, pled guilty at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week to one charge.
His plea of not guilty to a second charge was accepted by the prosecutor.
On July 18 at the police office, Carvel acted aggressively, shouted, swore, brandished stones and threatened to throw them at glass doors on the premises.
Carvel was given a Community Payback Order of 75 hours as a direct alternative to custody.
