KIDS and staff at James Reid School raised over £200 for the National Autistic Society with a bake sale.
The event was organised by Carol Smyth, whose son Jaiden attends the Saltcoats school, and sold delicious baking made and donated by pupils, staff, and parents.
The cakes were so popular that Carol said she was worried that by the time the Herald’s photographer Charlie Gilmour arrived, they might all be gone! Luckily there was still plenty of confections left for Charlie to photograph.
Carol said: “The cakes went as quick as anything. I was actually panicking that he [Charlie] would miss them!
“We raised £202.46. Everyone was really helpful. It was really good and I was very pleased.
“It’s the first fundraiser I’ve done. I’d like to do another one because it did so well.”
