A YOUNG Stevenson boy has bagged a prestigious pool trophy - despite only playing competitively for seven months.
Geo Edgar, 13, breezed past opponents in the Jayson Shaw Champions Cup for U15’s last week in Falkirk.
The pool starlet won 5-0 first round, 6-0 in the last 16, 7-1 in the quarter final, 7-4 semi final and 8-3 in the final and is ranked the top U15 competitor.
It is Geo’s second competition and his first in the Mick McGoldrick Scottish Masters and saw him become the runner-up.
The Auchenharvie pupil has his eyes set on bigger things as he is also playing at U18 level, ranked 7th on the tour and plays at U23 where he is ranked 20th.
Proud dad George said: “I am just so over the moon for him because he is just starting out. It’s such a big thing for him and for the town.
“I would like to say a big thanks to Allan Duffy at the Nonsuch Snooker Club who is Geo’s coach and deserves a mention, as does his main practice partner Jonathan McDermid.”
