LAST Saturday, the Three Towns Growers held an open day in the Elm Park Allotments.

Visitors enjoyed craft stalls, a produce sale, bric-a-brac, face painting, and tombola.

There was also a vegetable show for the plot holders, with trophies awarded.

This was the Growers’ first show since the allotments opened 18 months ago - and the first flower and veg show in the Three Towns for some time.

The visitors were also able to visit the new community garden and see the work that has been carried out by volunteers.

Gillian Plenderleith, of the Growers’ committee, said: “What an amazing day!

“It was a fabulous attendance from so many people in the community and just unbelievable to get so much encouragement and support!

“Thanks to the amazing Countryside Ranger for coming along and capturing the interest of so many kids (young and old) everyone just loved it.”

The event raised £722.28.
