A COUPLE who own two local businesses are hosting a double fundraiser in support of Stevenston teen Ainslie Mitchell.

Julie-Anne and Brian Jay, who own Jay’s Limos and Jay’s Lovehearts and Special Events, are planning two fundraisers at Saltcoats Labour Club on Sunday, September 17.

The events are in aid of 18-year-old Ainslie, who needs to raise £20,000 for lifesaving treatment abroad.

Julie-Anne and Brian wanted to fundraise for Ainslie after reading about the teen’s cancer battle in the Herald.

Julie-Anne said: “It’s about raising funds for lifesaving treatment for Ainslie in Cuba. The family are doing really well in raising funds but they’re still about six or seven thousand short.”

The first event of the day is from 2-5pm and will include a bingo, bouncy castle, face-painting, food, and candy cart.

The second fundraiser is from 7-11pm and Julie-Anne and Brian have kindly offered one of their limos to transport Ainslie and her family to the event. The evening will include a disco, light buffet, candy cart, and a raffle with prizes such as match day tickets, a football stadium tour and more.

Tickets for both events are £2 each and are available on the door.

Julie-Anne added: “I want to thank all the businesses who have supported this so far.”
