THE annual Ryder Cup competition at Ardrossan BC was held recently with a home club team coming out on top.
Sponsored this year by Ronnie McConnachie of Jack’s Corner in Ardrossan, 18 teams battled it out for the crown over the course of a day.
The group stages saw various formats including singles, pairs, triples and fours with each group coming down to the last game to ascertain the winners.
The semi-finals had four singles matches taking place on both greens and two Ardrossan teams winning through over West Kilbride and the sponsors teams.
Ewan Sloan’s rink took on Sarah Kennedy’s and it was a tense fair that went down to the last bowl with Sarah keeping her nerve to lift the trophy with Anne Christie, Jennifer Marshall and Michael McFarlane.
