A little girl who had her long hair cut off so she could to donate it to a charity that makes wigs for children has raised over £600.
Five-year-old Paton McGreavy raised an impressive £657 for the Little Princess Trust when she went for the chop at Hair Matters in Saltcoats last week.
The Mayfield Primary pupil came up with the idea herself because she wanted to donate her locks “to a wee boy or girl that doesn’t have any hair”.
Paton’s mum Charlene had told the Herald: “She done absolutely brilliant. I was absolutely over the moon.
“She’s absolutely loving her new hair. The fact we raised more money than we set out to is fantastic.
“She was loving it when she was getting her hair cut. The smile on her face was out of this world. She was saying that wee boy or girl will be so happy. I was trying to hold back the tears!”
